Enter Ricky Belmonte---

Ricky Belmonte (1947-2001, Jesus Cruz in real life) was another popular teen star of the 60s. Discovered under the wing of D’lanor Productions, he was introduced in 1966 in the movie, Si Siyanang at ang 7 Tsikiting, a Susan Roces starrer. In 1967, Sampaguita Pictures got Ricky’s services and tapped him in several musical movies--- Let’s Dance the Soul, Way Out in the Country, Bus Stop, Oh What a Kiss and Cinderella A-Go-Go, the last three with Rosemarie. His partnership with Rosemarie started his so-called ‘rivalry’ with Pepito and brought to fore the Rosemarie-Pepito-Ricky love triangle. Fans that time loved it and movies like Gintong Alaala, Life Everlasting and YeYe Generation were instant hits in the box-office.

However, the Rosemarie-Ricky tandem clicked more with the fans than the Rosemarie-Pepito love team. Their screen appearances in movies like Bitter Sweet and First Kiss were all certified smash hits. Soon afterwards, romance blossomed between the two stars. They were eventually married in 1971, but separated in 1986. They have three children- Renzo, Sheryl and Patrick.

Ricky died of heart attack in 2001, while Rosemarie is now living in Antioch, USA with her American husband.
