THE EIGHTIES # 221: SNOOKY AND GABBY CONCEPCION, WITH JENNY RAMIREZ, MACKOY SYMACO, LOTLOT IN LINO BROCKA'S "HELLO, YOUNG LOVERS" (1981)

Synopsis: Paula Ledesma (Snooky), 17, lives a sheltered life. When she is through with her classes, she is fetched by the chauffeur and brought home immediately. Her schedule is fixed by her mother (Rosemarie Gil). She does not have acquaintance with men except for Raffy (Mackoy Symaco), whom her mother wants her to marry.
One day, she is spotted by Tony Lara (Gabby Concepcion), a school dropout who is an occasional television dancer. It is love at first sight. With the help of Gerry (Bey Vito) and Susan (Jennifer Ramirez), Paula's friends, he tries to get acquainted with Paula. At first, she does not acknowledge his gestures but, sometime after, develops a crush on him.
Paula’s mother learns of the budding romance and tries to separate the two. She sends her to their country home. After some reflection, she returns to Manila to live with Tony. As they are underage, Tony’s mother tells her to go back to her mother.
Tony is incensed when he finds out. He runs after Paula but is beaten up by the mother’s servants. Paula is forced to marry Raffy. Tony decides he loves Paula very much. On the day of her wedding, he runs to the altar and just when Paula is about to say her vows, he shouts at her to join him. Paula jumps into his bike and they negotiate the traffic.
