Mang Kepweng, based on the comic strip by Al Magat and serialized in Tagalog Klasiks, is a popular quack village doctor who prescribed laughter, herbs and potions to cure illnesses. It was adapted into a movie in 1979 with comedian Chiquito in the title role. The popular trio of Tito, Vic and Joey debuted as the Tres Dwendes.

One Q.... do you happen to know who played "piling" in one of the Mang Kepwng Series? My sister and i have been wondering for decades now. I must admit, The Piliing series has been one of the more memorable of kepweng saga if not the most. Piling deserves some hurra as with Chiquito!

Yes.. the unforgettable "piling" until now i still remember him, with matching Sta. Maria song.Piling was vey mad and keeps coming back and haunting them because they used pakong bakya to his coffin.... I hope i could get a complete copy of chiquitos movies.
Lara, "Piling" is played by the late Palito. He was great in the orginal 1979 film; he was also in the two sequels Mang Kepweng's Final Conflict (1981) and Mang Kepweng And Son. Hope this helps!
...actually, I got Palito as "Pilo" and "Piling" (actually Julia del Mar) mixed up. She was also in the two sequels. So sorry!
