At the Sampaguita studios there’s a quiet bespectacled young man named Gerardo de Leon who’s megging box-office pictures. He is a physician and a character actor by his own right, and is now the newest directorial bid of the well-known picture company.
Gerardo de Leon has turned out the great box-office films of the Sampaguita Pictures namely “Estrellita” and “Panambitan.” Both films are of the melodramatic type, and are so far two of the finest ever turned out by a local movie studio.
