Simon,
Eddie Garcia is a native of Casiguran, Sorsogon. Certainly, Sorsoganons are proud of him.
MANOY, is a Bicol word for KUYA. For females, it's MANAY, meaning ATE.
PASAWAY, is also an original Bicol word meaning nuisance. It's usually associated with rowdy kids.....

Auggie:
Yes, you're right. He belongs to the AGRA family. I know his family because I made Casiguran as my vacation town when I was a child. This is also the town where the Escuderos and the Bilbaos are from.
There's another bicol word that Eddie made popular: PUDAY, which is of course, a slang for vagina. He's one naughty dude, I tell you.
:)
"MANOY, is a Bicol word for KUYA. For females, it's MANAY, meaning ATE." Thanks for clarifying,Auggie, but people thinks differently and associates it for something else, especially when Eddie G. says "Nagagalit na naman si 'Manoy.'" hahaha, all for fun!
Simon,
Eddie deviced probably a double entendre for Manoy. But it's respect for an older brother. Puday, is of course the female genitalia.
TIGBAK, is a word for dead animals.
PADI is the equivalent of the Tagalog word of PARE or ERAP. Madi is the female form.
Gurang is for senior citizens...

Simon,
I first encountered Eddie Garcia in front of Sampaguita Pictures, on Gilmore Avenue, eons ago when I was a 14-year-old boy. A tall, gangly, really handsome, young mestizo-looking guy walked out of the Sampaguita gates. He hailed a passing passenger jeep and sat on the front seat where his tall, 6ft frame would have been most comfortable. That man was Eddie Garcia.
The most unforgettable line that he said in a movie was probably, and I can't remember exactly but I think it was Mga Ligaw na Bulaklak. In the scene he was an evil kontrabida who had kidnapped Cora played by Susan Roces, and was interrogating her as she was tied to a chair. Eddie Garcia looks at her in his most menacing look, and without batting an eye tells her: "Ang mga nagsisinungaling ay pinarurusahan ng Diyos, Cora." I thought this was the single most unforgettable line from the great Eddie Garcia. Not sure if he won a best supporting actor for that role, but then there were so many.
