Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos was the turning point of Nora Aunor as far as her career as an actress is concerned....1976 was a good year for her with 3 competent films to her credit.. first was "Magandang gabi sa Inyong Lahat" this was her comeback movie after giving birt to ian de leon, her son with Boyet. The film was megged by Lupita Concio, a love story suspense thriller... nakita dun ang mag mature ni Nora as an actress..probably because naging isanag mother na sya...malyo na ito sa mga ginagawa nyang pa twetums na flim before. Then by November of the same year, ipinalabas ang tatlong taong Walang Diyos...dito na sya napansin ng mga critics bilang isang serious actress, the movie was directed by mario O'hara... the following month December came the 2nd metro manila film festival, ang entry ni Nora ay ang MinsaĆ½ isang gamu-gamo na ngayon ay isa ng Pinoy classic film... also under the helm of Lupita Concio..masyadong matapang ang movie beacause ang theme nito ay medyo anti govt...pero pinuri parin ito dahil sa mahusay na pagka direct at pag ganap ng mga artista...Somebody told me na she lost by mere 2 points to Hilda Koronel, who won the best actress for Insiang during the deliberation of the jurors...

One more trivia.. During the First Gawad ng Manunuri ng Pelikulang Pilipino - Urian Awards where Nora won the best actress plum for tatlong taong walang Diyos..many belived that her closet rival for the award was Hilda Koronel..at ang sabi nga nu ng marami ay sweet revenge ito sa pagkatalo nya during metro film fest.. but in reality..si Mona Lisa (also for Insiang) ang naging mahigpit na kalaban ni Nora sa Urian...according to manunuri members..mas credible ang performance ni Mona Lisa bilang isang aging mother na may batang kalaguyo compared sa acting ni Hilda bilang Insiang... Nora was unanimously chosen with 7 votes from manunuri..Mona Lisa got 3 noda at Hilda got 1.

I also agree that Mona Lisa was Nora Aunor's toughest competition. She was just great in "Insiang." Hilda Koronel was very good, but Mona Lisa was great. I don't even know why she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in the MMFF and Famas, and not for Best Actress.

Also, Nora received acting citations from the Manunuri for those three films. "Magandang Gabi" was her first.

Ang sarap gunitain ang mga panahong 'yon na tunay na artista and mga artista.
