RIP, LITO LEGASPI, 77/ MOVIE ADS 1959-70

MANILA, Philippines — Veteran actor Lito Legaspi (b. 1941) passed away Sunday morning, 08 September, after suffering a cardiac arrest at the Cardinal Santos Memorial Medical Center. He was 77. The actor would have celebrated his 78th birthday on Tuesday, September 10. He left behind children Zoren, Kier, Brandon, Jupiter, and estranged wife Hershey.

Legaspi began his acting career in 1959 and later rose to fame as a matinee idol.

He portrayed President Rodrigo Duterte in the 1992 film “Pugoy Hostage: Davao” and won a Gawad Urian Award for Best Supporting Actor for the 1977 film “Sinong Kapiling? Sinong Kasiping?”

His last television appearance was in GMA-7’s family drama series, “My Special Tatay.”
