Sakristan Mayor, a komiks novel by Nemesio E. Caravana, was serialized in Liwayway Magasin in 1961. It was adapted into the big screen with the young action star Fernando Poe, Jr., in the lead role. He portrayed the role of Pedro, a sakristan, out to " solve the mystery of a headless ghost and clean the town of banditry and lawlessness."
