Actor Pancho Magalona as Jose Rizal did a re-enactment of the hero's execution during the rites commemorating Rizal's 66th death anniversary in 1962.
In 1998, GMA Films produced and released an ambitious movie on the life of Dr. Jose Rizal. Winner of numerous awards during its theatrical run, it starred Cesar Montano in the title role with Marilou Diaz- Abaya at the helm. A short film clip of that historic event can be viewed below---
