Hi Simon,

Your Eighties Goon series is outstanding. Who's next, I wonder?

Eddie Nicart, of course, was Lito Lapid's personal trainer, which explains why they're in so many films together (including the 1983 The Gunfighter, though Eddie's not listed on the poster).

The Jess Lapid Story was directed by Jun Gallardo, and not his father Cesar.

PLEASE keep up the excellent work, and many MANY thanks for all this priceless info!!!

I just ant to confirm if Lito Lapid had indeed starred in a movie entitled 'Haring Cobra,' which was released and shown in theaters just either before or after 'Tomkat.'

I just need the info for a book I'm writing. This movie in question was the very first movie that I saw by myself. I was in Gr. 3 or 4, in Pasay City.

I've been googling this movie title but no luck.

Thanks.

Hello, Andrew Leavold. As you can see from the credits, I wrote the screenplay of Lito Lapid's first movie as leading actor, "The Jess Lapid Story." Let me say that Cesar and Jun Gallardo collaborated in directing the movie, not Jun only.

I also would like to see in his blog my first directorial assignment, "Kambal sa Baril" of Lito Lapid (1981) and Ben Tumbling, his biggest movie (1985).

Thanks,
Diego Cagahastian

Any idea where can I grab a complete set of his movies? I hope someone would edit those into HD versions, it would be a hit I bet. Thanx!

There are two scenes that I like in "San Basilio" starring Lito Lapid:

1.) The montage where Julio Valiente fights the bad guys and the eponymous theme song plays in the background. ("Julio Valiente!!!)

2.) Every men in the town of San Basilio claims to be Julio Valiente. (Reminds me of "Spartacus" starring Kirk Douglas)
