Teen idols Nora Aunor and Tirso Cruz III endorsing Philips in 1972, one of their rare product endorsements.

Transistor Radios! Do they still make them there? I'm sure not.
We may laugh at this product now, but the transistor radios were actually the humble beginnings of the computers.
Hence, when the conversation of Ben & Mr. McGuire in The Graduate regarding the future of plastic, we look back and smile:
Ben: Yes I am.
Mr. McGuire: 'Plastics.'
Ben: Exactly how do you mean?
Mr. McGuire: There's a great future in plastics. Think about it. Will you think about it?
Ben: Yes I will.
Mr. McGuire: Shh! Enough said. That's a deal.
Mr. McGuire never thought of the future of Electronics, the poor soul.
