Malvarosa is the poignant story of a family’s struggles in life. It tells of Rosa (played by Charito Solis) who lives in the slums near the railroad tracks, with her mother and five brothers. Her mother (Rebecca del Rio) wallows in guilt and depression, when her drunkard father is run over by a train. Though she is set to marry her fiancĆ© (Leroy Salvador), Rosa chooses to put her family’s needs before her own. Rosa’s brothers also carry their own burdens, except for one, the youngest, Avelino (Eddie Rodriguez) who helps Rosa shoulder the weight of the family’s problems.
The movie, directed by Gregorio Fernandez, was based on the komiks serial novel by Clodualdo del Mundo.

Florencia becomes ruthless in her efforts to avenge her father's death and with the help of Donato (Carlos Padilla, Jr.), organizes a rebel army to fight against the Americans.

Kapitan Mariano is all for fighting the rebels with force but the governor thinks otherwise. Mario (Mario Montenegro), the governor's son, volunteers to act as an emissary to convince the rebels to surrender peacefully. Mario contacts Donato but the latter, suspecting him of spying, orders him hanged. Mario is saved by Florencia who believes he is telling the truth.

Mario and Donato start for the town for a conference with the governor but when they reach town, they learn that the governor has been murdered. Although Dr. Lorna de Dios (Rebecca Del Rio), Mario’s sweetheart knows the identity of the murderer, she refuses to tell Mario who murdered his father.

Mario takes to the hills and is welcomed with open arms by Florencia who has fallen in love with him arousing Donato‘s jealousy. Later on Lorna relents and tells Mario that Kapitan Magno, one of Kapitan Mariano’s men, is the murderer of his father.

Mario finds Kapitan Mariano just as the latter with his men have captured Florencia. Kapitan Mariano makes a run for it, killing Lorna in the process. Mario pursues Kapitan Mariano and when he catches up, engages him in a fist fight which he eventually wins. He returns to Florencia.

Synopsis: After years of waiting for the absent husband who had been reported missing in the Korean front, Anita (Delia Razon) finally resigns to early widow hood and accepts the insistent pleas of kind, loving and handsome Dr. Ricardo Llamas (Jaime de la Rosa). Marriage brings them happiness but fate has other plans for them.

For one day, the husband, Major Bustamante (Eddie Rodriguez) returns. Dr. Llamas nobly gives way, and even treats the war hero’s blindness, and retires to the provinces to be away from the sight of Anita. Major Bustamante, meanwhile, organizes his own construction firm and makes a success of it.

While celebrating with friends in an exclusive night spot, he meets Lucy (Rebecca del Rio), the proprietress, who recognizes Anita's picture in the Major's wallet as he puts it out to pay for the bill. Lucy is sure that Anita is not the Major's wife but Dr. Llamas, and she proves it by showing a honeymoon picture of her with the doctor.

Angered at the thought of his wife's apparent unfaithfulness, he schemes with Lucy to get even with the wife
. When she begins to be suspicious, he abandons her, to live with Lucy.

In one of his visits to the city, the doctor drops in at Lucy's place, inflaming her old love. The Major discovers them, decides to leave Lucy behind. The doctor also meets Anita who tells him everything.

Wishing to remonstrate with the Major, the doctor goes to his house to find him dying, after a violent scuffle with Lucy.
Circumstantial evidence convicts him to death, but the timely confession of a repentant Lucy finally saves him. (Source: Literary Song-Movie magazine)
