“Patawad” is LVN’s major dramatic release of the year, blending heartfelt emotion with lively comedy from Pugo and Togo. The film stars Purita Sta. Maria as a devoted, long-suffering wife and Reynaldo Dante as her wayward husband.
The story follows a man who has been crippled since
childhood and falls in love with a wealthy, ailing vacationer. Despite their
differences, they marry, but his new circumstances lead him to neglect and
misuse the love of his wife and the goodwill of her father. Their journey through
conflict, hardship, and forgiveness forms the core of this touching and
entertaining picture.
The movie was released and shown at Grand Theater, September 14, 1940.
