“Dugo ng Alipin,” a Cervantina-Filipina production directed by Tor Villano, stars Purita Sta. Maria, Reynaldo Dante, Estela Mari, and Manuel Eloriaga in a gripping human-interest drama.
The film tells the story of Daniel (Eloriaga), an honest laborer devoted to his wife Luisa (Sta. Maria) and family, whose lives are shattered by the lustful advances of their wealthy master, Don Felipe (Justo Peña). When Don Felipe attempts to assault Luisa, Daniel rushes home, leading to a fatal confrontation that ends with the master’s death. Branded unjustly and burdened by guilt, Daniel faces the cruel turns of fate and the haunting question of how his daughter’s future will intertwine with the legacy of their oppressor.
Blending deep emotion with touches of humor from Pugo and Togo, “Dugo ng Alipin” promises a stirring story of love, injustice, and redemption.
