A
mysterious drifter, Victor (Fernando Poe, Jr.), looking for a work, secured one
at Rancho Maravejo and was tasked to work with Don Agustin’s (Jose Garcia)
nephew, Rodrigo (Jess Lapid) and at the same time to help oversee the ranch’s
affairs. Because of Rodrigo’s destructive behavior (i.e. killing spree,
gambling), he was stripped of his duties and Victor soon took over. Rodrigo’s
rape attempt on Don Agustin’s daughter’s Margarita (Rebecca) drove Don Agustin
to send him away. Also, Rodrigo’s gambling debts started to pile up and he had
no recourse but to negotiate with Max to rob the ranch with the prized race
horses in exchange of the debts. Soon after, Max and his men came back and
killed Don Agustin and ran off with the jewelries and valuables. Victor was
away on an errand on the day of the attack and when he returned he found the
place in disarray. He was relieved to find Margarita safe. He took his gun and
hunt down Max and his men, and that of Rodrigo and his cohorts. Rodrigo,
considered as the fastest gun alive, was the last man to fall.
