Shown in 1936, the movie "Diwata ng Karagatan, "acclaimed by two continents, Europe and South America, as Most Beautiful, no local studio has ever produced anything like it yet..." was re-released and re-shown at Fox theater in limited run in January 17, 1939.
The movie, starring Rogelio de la Rosa starred as a young Malay and Mari Velez as his chosen maiden star, was (re)-edited in Paris, France (with French subtitles).
