“Kontra-Bida” made its debut on the pages of Pilipino Komiks in 1954. The novel, created and drawn by newly declared National Artist for visual arts, Francisco V. Coching, was adapted into the screen in 1955 with Fred Montilla, Myrna Delgado, Lolita Rodriguez and Luis Gonzales in the lead roles.
