THE 1969 4th MANILA FILM FESTIVAL: "PATRIA ADORADA" BEST PICTURE

Patria Adorada (Emar Pictures) and Ang Pulubi (Nepomuceno Productions) topped the 1969 Fourth Manila Film Festival. Patria Adorada copped the prestigious Grand Rajah Soliman Award for Best Picture and Ang Pulubi won six major awards--- Charito Solis (Best Actress), Fred Galang (Best Actor), Eva Darren (Best Supporting Actress), Miguelito Nepomuceno (Best Child Actor), Loreto Isleta (Best Color Cinematography), Rudy Montecajon (Best Editing). Other awardees --- Luis Enriquez (Best Director, Ikaw), Pepito Rodriguez (Best Supporting Actor, Stop Look Listen), Louise de Mesa (Best Story, Ikaw), Restie Umali (Best Musical Score, Bitter Sweet) and Max Rivera (Best Screenplay, Ikaw). A total of 16 entries participated in the 10-day festival. Dolphy's Facifica Falayfay emerged as the top grosser.
