In 1978, labor groups were asking for a 18 pesos a day minimum wage. The government was adamant and said NO to the demands. Well, that's only 540 pesos a month. Not enough to buy a sack of rice in today's prices.

Daily Express was founded in 1962 by Philippine Daily Media Inc. located in Bustamante Street, Binondo, Manila a.k.a Chinatown of the Philippines There is a Chinese Translation of the Newspaper called 每日快报 and the Sunday Edition called Sunday Express 星期天快报 and it has Chinese Characters on these tabloids and the First Overseas Chinese Newspaper to have published the Martial Law and other events.
