  1. Simon,
Wow, I love this. Indeed Gloria Romero was so beautiful at that time and the Queen of Philippine Movies (taking over from Carmen Rosales). We had her as our model for some product I don't remember now (probably Procter and Gamble), when I was working with advertising, and they were all praises for her. A true professional actress, she could instantly change to whatever is called for to pose for the commercial.

  2. Even up to this day, Ms. Romero still exemplifies that exceptional trait and quality, that of being a true professional actress.

  4. Auggie,

  5. Rod,

Other tig-sisingkong beverages were: BAYANI, MALAYAN and IDEAL. Tig-di-diyes were: CANADA DRY in various flavors, RC COLA, DR.PEPPER, 7UP, ROYAL and BIRELEYS. PACOSTA CHOCOLAIT and MILK and MAGNOLIA sold for 25 centavos and so with the Ham & Cheese sandwich sold at UST ATELIER's Cooperative.

A first run movie ticket at the Orchestra sold for 1.20, second run orchestra tickets cost 85 centavos, third run ,I think sold for 30 centavos.

Did you know the cost of MACOMBER, SABALVARO, MARVIN and DAN GULAPA trousers ? I forgot.

  6. Auggie,
Then Royal Tru-Orange came along with the advertised pulp bits, mas masarap.
Isang pakete piso, o S.85. Pinakamahal yung Salem, it think it was S1.75. Years later after I graduated, natigil ko rin ang sigarilyo.

  9. Auggie,
Pero natigil ko ang pagsisigarilyo after two years in advertising. Naging chain smoker kasi ako, at least two packs a day, masama sa katawan at baga.
