1950s PINOY SUPERHERO: ARMANDO GOYENA AS "KAPITAN KIDLAT" (1953)

Pinoy version of America's Captain Marvel, Kapitan Kidlat was introduced to Pinoy viewers in the 1950s with screen idol, Armando Goyena playing the title role. Kapitan Kidlat, created by Leonardo Abutin, was based on a popular DZRH radio program.

"Inocencio Santos was a shy and humble man who worked at a police station, until he was granted incredible powers by Zeus, "the Supreme God", to aid the innocent and helpless against criminals.     There was a Kapitan Kidlat during the 80's, forgot who the lead actor was, his sidekick was a kid Dranreb Belleaz and the main contravida was a hairy Michael De Mesa.

    There was another super hero film titled, SUPERTEX - also starring Dranreb with other bunch of kids....

      Original actor was played by Armando Goyena as Kapitan Kidlat in 2013 fantasy series was played by Derek Ramsay in TV5 drama Ang Bagong Kapitan Kidlat in
      Philippine television serialized in the 1950's comicbook series & radio show from the Philippines. Thanks!

    I think you're referring to the Kidlat TV series that was shown in IBC 13 during the 80s. Kidlat was portrayed by Ricky Davao.
