MORE ON PRE-WAR TAGALOG MOVIES: MILA DEL SOL, ANGEL ESMERALDA, WITH TITO AREVALO, LILIA RIANZARES, AMELITA SOL, CECILIO JOAQUIN, FLORENTINO BALLECER, JUANITA ANGELES, VITANG ORTEGA, BENNY MACK, LINA TORRES IN "PRINCESA NG KUMINTANG" (1940)

Touted as the season’s biggest box-office sensation, LVN’s “Princesa ng Kumintang” premieres today at the Grand Theatre. Early previews predict it will surpass all previous attendance records set by any local production. It promises to captivate audiences with its romance, music, and breathtaking spectacle.

The radiant and winsome Mila del Sol, famed for her doe-like eyes and charming smile, takes the title role in this celebrated operetta. Opposite her is the dashing Angel Esmeralda, whose virile charm and romantic appeal make him the perfect leading man. Together, they form one of the most enchanting and tender screen pairings ever to grace the Philippine cinema.

In “Princesa ng Kumintang,” Mila del Sol outshines even her unforgettable performance in LVN’s earlier hit, “Giliw Ko.”
