After the remarkable success of "Birheng Walang Dambana," Filippine Films produced another adaptation from Liwayway magazine, "Gamugamong Naging Lawin." Written by Teodoro Virrey, the film was directed by Fermin Barva and headlined by Rosa del Rosario. The male lead was portrayed by Leopoldo Salcedo, then regarded as one of the most promising young actors in the Philippines.
