THE SIXTIES # 484: JAIME DE LA ROSA, EDNA LUNA, CAROL VARGA, ARURAY, EDDIE FERNANDEZ, JOSE CRIS SOTO AND EVA MONTES IN MARS RAVELO'S "ANAK NI DYESEBEL" (1964): KOMIKS SERIAL AND MOVIE ADAPTATION/ RE-POPSTED


In 1963, komiks legend Mars Ravelo made a sequel to one of his popular character, Dyesebel, which he created in 1952. The sequel, Anak ni Dyesebel, illustrated by Elpidio Torres, appeared on the pages of Liwayway Magasin. A new character, Alona, was introduced in the novel, which was later played by Eva Montes in the adapted movie. The movie retained the original cast, headed by screen legends Jaime de La Rosa, Carol Varga and Edna Luna. It was directed by National Artist Gerardo de Leon, who also handled the first Dyesebel in 1953.
