DARNA 1950 REVISITED: UNANG LABAS (THE ORIGIN OF DARNA)


What and how was it like reading Darna the first time it appeared in the market in 1950? Readers that time intensely and eagerly followed the exploits of this new superhero. The komik serial, created by the great Mars Ravelo ran for 28 issues and those issues were vividly and expertly illustrated and executed by Nestor Redondo. From the pages of Pilipino Komiks, come and let us revisit and experience this highly successful komiks novel.

    Hi Simon. Thanks so much for putting up those vintage DARNA KOMIKS. I have always wanted to read those and thanks to you, a whole new generation of Darna fans can finally read the original version.

    Do you have Chapters 5, 6, 7, to Chapter 15? Would be great if we can read the rest of the story in between. More Power to you. We love Video 48

    Thank you so much for blogging about movies from the Golden Age of Filipino cinema. I remember watching films like Dyesebel (not the Alice Dixon version!) on Saturday afternoon matinee at channel 9 when I was just a kid. Please keep posting!
