“Rosa Birhen” is a grand musical romance from San Francisco del Monte Pictures, written by novelist Antonio P. Sempio and directed by Josefino Cenizal, who also stars as the dashing “Magnificent Brute.” The film tells a love story involving a young lawyer, a country girl, and a glamorous socialite, enriched with heartfelt songs and lilting melodies. Cenizal shares the screen with soprano Raymunda Guidote—fresh from musical studies in Europe—and radio singer Lirio Lakindanum, both of whom bring distinct vocal styles to the production. A highlight of the film is Guidote’s rendition of “Dream of Love.” With its blend of romance, music, and emotional depth, “Rosa Birhen” promises to be a major cinematic and musical event when it premieres at the Metropolitan Theatre on the 30th.
